As alluded in my other posts about orange peel powder and how to make it at home (Click here to know more); I am here with another DIY to make pomegranate peel powder at home again. We can also use peels of pomegranate in a judicious way rather than throwing them unused.
Pomegranate is a loaded with anti-oxidants. You would be glad to know that it has three times more anti-oxidants than green tea. Thus, it helps in delaying the signs of aging.
Also, pomegranate has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which prevents pimples and acnes. It is rich in Vitamins A, C and E and minerals like potassium, calcium, zinc and iron. So not only the seeds; we can also use the peels which has enormous vitamins and minerals needed for healthy and glowing skin.
Needless to mention that you get all these at zero cost and the product is organic and preservative-free.
I will share the steps on how to make pomegranate peel powder at home.
Step 1: Get organic and fresh pomegranates from the market.
Step 2. Wash it properly and then wipe the water off with a clean cloth.
Step 3: Peel the pomegranates. Tear the peels into small pieces.
Step 4: Take the peels in a plate and put them under sunlight. Cover it with a very thin cotton cloth to keep the peels dust-free.
Step 5: After 2 – 3 days, the peel will be completely dry and brittle (depending on exposure to sunlight). Put it in a grinder jar and grind it. Keep the powder in an airtight container to retain its properties.
I use this powder in making face packs. The granule like structure acts as an effective scrub which removes black heads, white heads, and dead skin cells.
I insist on making the pomegranate peel powder at home, as I know that I am using an organic product, with extreme hygiene and care and moreover no added colors and preservatives as I mentioned earlier.
So, this was the DIY for pomegranate peel powder at zero cost
